🎠Seafood & Sounds brings colour to Poole Old Town
Seafood & Sounds is more than a foodie’s dream – it’s a full-blown celebration of Poole’s Old Town, and this year’s parade is shaping up to be one of the biggest highlights of the festival.
The fun kicks off at 11am on Saturday 13th September, when a spectacular parade sets off from the Slug & Lettuce in Poole’s Old Town. Leading the way will be local legend Jamie Jigsaw, followed by a vibrant mix of community groups and performers, including carnival band Samba Panashe, volunteers from Forest Holme, the RNLI crew and families, children and parents from St James’ Church, and the legendary Pirates of Poole. To top it off, Be Enchanted performers will bring even more magic to the streets.
This is a parade that invites everyone to take part, so come dressed in your best seafood-themed fancy dress or get crafty with fishes on sticks and masks. There’ll be prizes for the most creative costumes in three categories: under 7s, over 7s, and adults, plus awards for the best fish on a stick and best seafood mask.
The parade is just the beginning of a weekend packed with family-friendly fun, street entertainment, and live music dotted across the Old Town. Whether you’re planning to join the parade, cheer from the sidelines, or simply enjoy the atmosphere with some incredible seafood, this is one event you don’t want to miss.
